Are you undecided about what type of orthodontics to choose with self-ligating braces or invisible braces?
At Ideal Dental we want to help you so that in 2025 you will have the smile of your dreams.
What does invisible orthodontics consist of?
Invisible orthodontics consists of the use of transparent splints that are changed weekly and that, thanks to their continued use, the teeth move until an optimal dental alignment is achieved for the patient; it is comfortable, versatile, functional and esthetically very convenient for any patient who wishes to hide his or her orthodontics by all possible means and obtain a result in the most comfortable way possible. This is especially relevant when we are talking about adults, who find it much more difficult to adapt to a fixed appliance and suffer more discomfort than children and adolescents, not to mention the social and occupational connotations of an adult wearing brackets.
It is a discreet and practically imperceptible solution with which you can correct the alignment of your teeth and show off a beautiful, and above all healthy, smile. A series of transparent removable caps, called aligners, are used, designed completely to the measure of each patient and that must be replaced as the desired movements on the teeth are produced.
Advantages of invisible braces
– It is practically imperceptible to others from a social distance.
– Facilitates hygiene and feeding, as there are very few elements attached to the teeth and they are small in size.
– Appointments in the office are shorter than with braces treatment and there are usually no emergencies (decementados, ulcers …)
Self-ligating brackets:
As for the self-ligating Brackets, they are those that do not require the use of any type of ligatures to hold the arch, they simply consist of a gate that opens and closes. Their main advantage over other types of brackets is that, by not using ligatures, their structure provides a lighter but constant force, making the treatment faster and less painful than with traditional brackets.
Self-ligating brackets, unlike conventional ligating brackets (with elastomers) make the archwire to be placed inside the bracket slot with more slack than with ligatures and therefore can facilitate the movement of the tooth in a more biological way, especially in the early stages of treatment (alignment and leveling).
Advantages of self-ligating brackets
– Alignment is achieved very quickly and visibly.
– The price is usually somewhat lower than aligners.
