WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental implants are a highly durable and effective solution for replacing missing teeth. They are composed of a small titanium screw that is inserted into the jawbone, functioning as an artificial root. A customized dental crown or prosthesis is placed over this screw, restoring both chewing function and dental esthetics.
Why choose dental implants
– Naturalness: They look and function like natural teeth.
– Confidence: No worries about removable dentures.
– Improved quality of life: Eat, speak and smile without limitations.
BENEFITS OF DENTAL IMPLANTS
Aesthetics: Dental implants integrate naturally with the rest of the teeth, providing a harmonious and discreet appearance. This means that you not only regain function, but also the beauty of your smile.
Functionality: By opting for implants, you regain the ability to chew and speak without restrictions. You no longer have to worry about dietary limitations or communication difficulties.
Bone preservation: Implants stimulate the jawbone in a manner similar to a natural root. This helps prevent bone loss, maintaining the long-term health of your tooth structure.
Durability: With proper care and regular dental visits, implants can last a lifetime. This durability makes them a long-term investment in your oral health.
HOW THE PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED
Evaluation: At this stage, the dentist evaluates your oral health and determines if you are a suitable candidate for dental implants. Factors such as bone density, gum health and the presence of systemic disease are considered.
X-rays and clinical examinations are performed to evaluate tooth structure and plan treatment.
Implant placement: Once suitability is confirmed, the implant is placed. A small titanium screw is inserted into the maxillary or mandibular bone.
This screw acts as an artificial root and provides a solid base for the future dental crown.
Healing: After implant placement, the healing process begins. Over several months, the bone fuses with the implant in a process called osseointegration.
During this period, a soft diet should be followed and chewing in the implant area should be avoided.
Crown placement: Once the implant has completely healed, the customized dental crown is placed.
The crown adapts to the shape and color of your natural teeth, restoring chewing function and esthetics.
